Pizzaface Brighton Review

Pizzaface is an independent restaurant set up in Kemptown, with more locations opening in Worthing and Hove. I’ve heard lots about it as one of the top Brighton pizza places, and finally managed to try it this Halloween!

My office decided we should celebrate Halloween by all having lunch together, and we decided to go for Pizzaface.

I went for the Funghi pizza, which has field, shiitake, chestnut and oyster mushrooms topped with garlic, parmesan, thyme, and truffle oil. Not that I need to say it, but if you don’t like mushrooms, this isn’t the pizza for you… If you love them like I do, say hello to your dream pizza.

The flavour of all the types of mushroom is absolutely delicious, with the garlic and truffle oil perfectly complimenting it. Neither overpowers the other, they blend together perfectly. There was loads of topping (is there anything worse than a pizza with stingy toppings?!) and I thought it was really good value for just £10.

I also tried a slide of the Jakub, which has chorizo, pork and wild boar salami, caramelised onion, dollops of mascarpone, a sprinkling of dried chilli flakes and oregano. It had an amazing amount of meat and cheese, more than I expected for a pizza that’s only £11.50.

Overall I thought the pizza was incredible – flavour and value. Next time you’re craving pizza, don’t even let the big chain companies cross your mind. Pizzaface is tastier and cheaper!
