Fair Play Brighton Illustration Fair Review

Fair Play Brighton is a quarterly illustration based fair, held at North Laine Brew house. I heard about it from a sponsored post on Instagram, and given that I’m a huge sucker for prints and postcards, I decided to check it out.

Tucked in the back of the pub, each illustrator has a table with all their work displayed. I absolutely loved walking around all the stalls, chatting to the designers and asking about the work they had out! It’s so nice to be able to talk to people about their work and get to know them a little bit when you buy from them.

I ended up buying mostly cat themed prints… crazy cat lady forever. First up, I bought three postcards from Anna Soba. Her work is mostly black and white with pops of colour. I absolutely adore her work, the cat flashing his butt in his trousers is my favourite!!! Her work is so fun and playful and I definitely want to buy more in the future.

Next, I bought two prints from Laura Backeberg. Her work is super bright and colourful and of course, I couldn’t resist her two cat postcards. I love the bright colours so much, I also bought a sticker of one of her prints to make my boring phone case a bit more interesting ha.

I bought a couple of other stickers from other artists but I unfortunately didn’t catch the illustrators names. A lot of the artists are on the Fair Play Instagram – there are some really wonderful pieces so make sure you check it out!
