Mad Hatter Brighton Cafe Review

The Mad Hatter is around the corner from where I live and it’s an excellent breakfast spot. They have more than just breakfasty brunchy bits on the menu, but I’ve only ever been in for breakfast.

I went for the eggs benedict last time I went and it was deeeelish!! The eggs were poached to perfection, you got a pretty decent amount of ham and loads of hollandaise sauce. I hate it when you only get a small dribble – but they aren’t holding back here. It’s really tasty.

Drinks-wise, I went for an iced latte with a shot of hazelnut syrup. SO. GOOD. The coffee here is great tbh. In the past, I’ve also had one of their milkshakes – the Nutella one is absolutely amazing. I think I paid about Β£10 in total for breakfast and a coffee which is pretty reasonable – especially for Brighton.

They have lots of other food on the menu too like homemade falafel, jacket potato, ciabattas and a selection of cakes. It seems like they have lots of veggie and vegan options too.

One of the things I like the most about the Mad Hatter is the big windows – I love grabbing a window seat and watching the world go by. Everyone in the cafe, including the staff, is always really chatty and it’s dog-friendly too.

If you’re looking for a fancy bouije brunch, this isn’t the place for you. If a friendly atmosphere with a chilled vibe is your thing, you’ll love the Mad Hatter!
