Considering how many there are in Brighton, I’m surprised I’ve never been to a Small Batch Coffee before. I regret not going sooner tbh! This weekend with a slightly sore head, I googled brunch in Brighton dog friendly and Small Batch Coffee came up. The Norfolk Square one is my closest so off we went!
The inside of Small Batch is ace – it’s got a really nice atmosphere and it’s decorated really well. We rocked up around 11am on a Sunday and managed to get a table for 4 which was ace, as you can’t actually book. Everything is very coronavirus friendly (weird thing to say but… it is!) so you order on your phone and they bring everything to you. There are big windows and doors open so it’s very airy and ventilated.
I don’t care that it’s getting colder, I’m still such a sucker for an iced coffee. The Small Batch iced latte was very welcome and did a good job of perking me up for sure. Foodwise, the menu is great – I’m pretty sure it could please anyone. From granola to a full English to pancakes, it ticks basically every breakfast box you could want.
I went for the houmous eggs – two poched eggs with beetroot houmous, spinach, mushroom, cherry tomatoes, pesto and sourdough toast.

I was v excited about this because I’m not the biggest avocado fan and that’s usually the only option – sourdough toast, eggs and avo. THANK YOU Small Batch for shaking it up! The beetroot houmous was SO good and all the flavours really complimented each other. I would never have thought to add pesto but damn. It took it to the next level.

My pal had the nutella, banana and chocolate chip pancakes and they looked sper tasty as well. I’m keen to go back and try more of their breakfast options. Plus, I love that it’s dog friendly! Here’s Kip laying in my coat on the floor 🙂
