Baked is on the corner of Church Road in Hove. I’ve always walked past and thought it looks ace – there are lots of tables outside with smiley people eating nice looking food. They are also dog friendly which is always a plus.
We went on a sunny weekday for lunch and didn’t have to wait for a table, but sometimes a queue can form. On a weekend, the longest we’ve had to wait is 20 minutes and they take your name so you can go for a stroll and then come back. Definitely worth the wait I think.
I went for the chorizo eggs, because I’m an absolute sucker for chorizo. It was poached eggs, avocado, chorizo on toasted sour dough. I’m not sure what the sauce was, but it was BANGIN. Some kind of spicy mayo I’d guess.

The portion size was really good – you get a decent amount of chorizo and sauce and it was pretty filling, but in the perfect lunch way. Full but not sleeping through Teams meetings all afternoon kind of thing.

The staff are super friendly and the food comes out quick so it’s the perfect lunch break spot, but equally a nice place to relax on the weekend if you’re a little worse for wear and need carbs. My partner had the feta eggs and they looked incredible too. I can also vouch for the hash being excellent. I had an iced latte which was pretty tasty too. Overall I’d say Baked is the perfect spot for a quick lunch or a hangover brunch at the weekend.
